As a busy Mom who is running a household and teaching their children too, you may feel that it is your duty and obligation to always put the children first. Below are some helpful self care tips for the busy mom.
And although it is true to an extent, you cannot keep running on empty. If you do not take time to care for yourself, you will burn out, and that is no good for anyone involved.
A little me time every now and again helps you recharge and destress, ready to make the best decisions for the family. You must find a self-care routine that works for you and help you look and feel better. Here are a few ideas:
Time Out
Everyone needs some time out, some alone time to destress and gather composure. Different methods will work for different people. Some people find ten minutes of meditation to be extremely effective.
All you need is ten minutes to be able to be at peace; just close your eyes and concentrate on your breathing, trying to filter out all the chatter. Other people swear by a walk in a natural place, like a local forest or countryside.
Perhaps a simple glass of wine or some cake in the evening would work for you, or a long hot bath with some essential oils. How about something as simple a using luxury things like luxury hand soap that moisturizes your hands as you wash? It just needs to be something that is relaxing where you are not being bothered. Self-care is about finding a little time to be alone.
Exercise
If you are looking for a great destress technique, then you need to look no further than exercise. Just thirty minutes a day may be enough to reduce your stress as well as offer you a whole load of other health benefits too. It is a great way to lose weight, to enhance the look of your skin.
Exercise can be something you do with the kids too. You can go for walks or play tennis. Why not do family activities at the weekend? This is agate way of ensuring the kids are getting some fresh air and burning some calories. The more you move about, the better you will feel all round.
Start Saying No
Whatever you do don’t be a people pleaser. This is a great way to never be happy. You become a bit of skivvy to other people’s demands, and you never get the respect you initially thought you would. In fact, the person who dislikes you most for this personality trait is you.
Always benign at the beck and call of other people, leaving you with no time, stressed, overworked, and generally feeling run down. So, it is time you started using this magic word that buys time and destresses you. The next time you are asked for a favor, that you know you shouldn’t agree to, kindly say no.
The first time you do it, it will be difficult, but once you start seeing the benefits of using this word, you will start using it more and more, and you will feel less stressed and happier.
